Though Barton Malow was founded in 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, we’ve called Southfield “home” since relocating our headquarters to the Detroit suburb in 1986. A central location to many of our Midwest projects and offices, the current headquarters facility is a 110,000-SF, employee-designed and built, four-story building located off of American Drive. Construction finished on the building in 2001, but it has been constantly updated to include a HUB collaboration area, additional meeting rooms, and interactive displays to engage and appeal to both visitors and team members.
Barton Malow is well positioned as a leader among Michigan construction companies. Our Southfield headquarters building offers ample space for our team members to meet and collaborate with partners and clients.
The building is also high on sustainability. As part of Barton Malow’s participation in the DTE Energy MIGreenPower initiative, our headquarters building runs 100% on Michigan-made wind and solar energy. Other sustainability features include a Wildlife Habitat Council-certified rain garden, instant hot water heaters, filters on rooftop air handling units, water fill-up stations, light/occupancy sensors in addition to the energy efficient basics (LED lights, waterless toilets, water-efficient fixtures, etc).
